These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Zavune website and web application (the "Service") operated by Zavune ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Zavune is a local-first AI workspace that enables branching conversations and worldline-based exploration. The Service allows you to:

  • Create and manage AI-powered conversations with branching capabilities.
  • Connect to third-party AI model providers using your own API keys (BYOK).
  • Optionally create an account to enable cloud sync and additional features.
  • Export your data in JSON or image formats.

3. Accounts

  • You may use the Service as a guest without creating an account, subject to guest-tier limitations.
  • If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you create through the Service (conversations, branches, etc.).
  • By default, your content is stored locally in your browser and is not accessible to us.
  • If you enable cloud sync, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the sync service.
  • You are solely responsible for the content of your conversations and the prompts you send to AI providers.

5. API Keys & Third-Party Services

  • You are responsible for obtaining and managing your own API keys from third-party AI providers (e.g., Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek, GLM).
  • Your API keys are stored locally in your browser by default. We do not have access to your API keys unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
  • Your use of third-party AI providers is subject to their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party AI responses.
  • You are responsible for any costs incurred through your use of third-party API keys.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

  • The Service offers free tiers (Guest and Free) and paid tiers (Pro).
  • Paid subscriptions are processed through LemonSqueezy. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's terms.
  • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect on their next billing cycle.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any laws.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written consent.

9. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by Zavune and protected by intellectual property laws.
  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
  • "Zavune" and associated logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose.
  • Third-party AI providers will be available or reliable.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZAVUNE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service.
  • Any content generated by AI providers through the Service.
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
  • Any third-party conduct on the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zavune from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Zavune operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
